Malondialdehyde (MDA) is a common and relatively stable byproduct of lipid peroxidation. It is generated from the breakdown of lipid peroxides which are difficult to measure directly. Therefore MDA is a well-published marker of lipid peroxidation. Cell Biolabs' OxiSelect™ MDA Adduct Competitive ELISA Kit provides rapid detection of malondialdehyde-protein adducts in cell and tissue lysates, plasma, serum, or purified proteins. Each kit provides sufficient reagents for 96 assays including standards and unknown samples. Please note that MDA, while stable in the body, tends to degrade over time in in vitro samples stored for more than a few weeks. We recommend that fresh samples be tested with this kit.
